WTA 250 's-Hertogenbosch, Elisabetta Cocciaretto in quarterfinals

Elisabetta Cocciaretto, world number 123, in the second round of the WTA 250 on the Dutch grass court of ‘s-Hertogenbosch, beat U.S. Bernarda Pera, number 79, with a score of 6-1 7-6 thus advancing to the quarterfinals.

The 24-year-old from Porto San Giorgio, Marche, dominated the first set by immediately flying to a 4-0 lead and then making a third beak in the seventh game, the final game of the partial, after saving a break point at 4-1.

Cocciaretto at 1-1 in the second set loses her serve for the first time but immediately recovers the break, then does not convert a break ball at 4-3 in her favor and also misses a match point at 6-5.

We go to the tie-break in which Cocciaretto flies to 6-1, misses three more match points but finally manages to close on 7-4 after an hour and 24 minutes of play. In the quarterfinals Elisabetta will face the winner between Dutchwoman Suzan Lamens, number 72 in the rankings, and U.S. Ann Li, number 53.
