Shengelia super: Virtus Bologna comes back and beats Brescia in Game 1 of the final

Victory for Virtus Bologna against Brescia in Game 1 of the Serie A basketball finals series. Trailing for most of the game to a 10-point gap in the third quarter, the hosts came back and won in the last quarter 90-87 after a thrilling back-and-forth in the last minutes of the match.

Shengelia was the matador of the match with 29 points scored in 29 minutes played. For Virtus, Morgan also did well with 19 points. For Brescia, Bilan’s 16 points and Rivers’ 15 were not enough. Game 2, also scheduled in Bologna, is scheduled for Saturday, June 14.

Virtus coach Dusko Ivanovic said after the game: “Every game 1 is always difficult. We know Brescia, they know us. We won against a great team and the next games will still need more concentration and patience”.
