Italian volleyball mourns Barbara Siciliano, who passed away suddenly Friday morning in Lavagna, Liguria, where she was spending her vacation. The ’former Azzurra died at the age of only 52 from a heart attack.

Immediate condolences from FIPAV: “Federal President Giuseppe Manfredi, Vice Presidents Elio Sità and Massimo Sala, Secretary General Stefano Bellotti, the Federal Council and the entire FIPAV join the grief of Barbara Siciliano’s family for her untimely death”.

Ex volleyball player born in 1972, Barbara wore the jerseys of numerous Italian clubs and the national team, collecting 39 appearances in the blue jersey.

Only last March, Barbara Siciliano was one of the many players present at the Choruslife Arena in Bergamo to pay homage to the return to a city arena of the red-blue lineup, engaged in the quarterfinals of the Tigotà Serie A1 Scudetto Playoffs.
