Giovanni Stroppa talks about his future after his farewell to Cremonese

Host of the third edition of Milan Football Week, Giovanni Stroppa also spoke to reporters about his future, a little more than twenty-four hours after the official announcement of his farewell to Cremonese after the promotion won in the playoffs by beating Spezia in the double final. That of the coach from Mulazzano is the fourth promotion in his coaching career, after those with Foggia (2016-17, from C to B), Crotone (2019-20, from B to A) and Monza (2021-22, from B to A via playoffs).
First, however, a thought just to Cremonese: “The club is strong, team was competitive, even more so at the end – said the 57-year-old coach, former player among others of Monza and Milan -: the path was troubled, the result obtained was incredible, to be shared with all those who worked together with me”.
The references, on a technical level, are all the coaches who have managed him during his career as a player, which lasted more than 20’years: “They have taught me everything, from those who have made a significant contribution to all of Italian soccer to those who are less well known. All of them have been important, in management and team-building, in game ideas… I hope I have taken a lot from them”.
Now there’s to think about the next experience, although Stroppa himself does not want to unbalance himself more: “For now there is no news, we are looking around and hope to make the right choice” said the now-retired coach, who in addition to the four clubs with which he gained promotion has also coached the youth teams of AC Milan, Sudtirol, Pescara and Spezia.
