After the historic Roland Garros final, Jannik Sinner returns to the court for the first stage of the season on grass’grass. In Halle, Germany, the world No. 1 will defend the title he won last year in the Atp 500 tournament that will also feature Flavio Cobolli, Lorenzo Sonego and Luciano Darderi.

Sinner, who will make his debut against a qualifier but will be on court in doubles paired with Sonego, spoke a bit about himself in an interview with Sky Sports, telling how he relaxed after the beastly Sunday in Paris.

“I spent a few days with friends and family, with people who love me and with whom I am calm – said Sinner -. I relaxed with simple moments, playing ping pong and having a family barbecue. Normalcy is what I need to recover”.

As for the match he lost to Carlos Alcaraz, he called it “an incredible match and of the highest level. It did not end the way we wanted, but it happens”.

“It happened even to the best in the world to experience moments like that, but it depends on how everyone reacts and also from what perspective you look at it – he continued – whether missed match points or a match where I reached a level I had never reached on clay. Mentally I was on the ball for five and a half hours and I didn”t complain about anything.
