Jukka Jalonen announces the names of the first six summoned

The Italian Ice Sports Federation has announced the first six players included in the preliminary list for the men’s ice hockey tournament at the Milan Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games. The announcement was made in cooperation with the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF), the National Hockey League (NHL), the National Hockey League Players’ Association (NHLPA) and the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

The players nominated are Damian Clara (NHL rights by Anaheim Ducks), Diego Kostner (HC Ambrì-Piotta), Thomas Larkin (Schwenninger Wild Wings), Daniel Mantenuto (HC Bolzano), Tommy Purdeller (HC Val Pusteria) and Luca Zanatta (HC Val Pusteria).

“We are looking forward to the Olympics, for most of us it really is a dream come true. The guys we have chosen are obviously great players, but also great teammates,” explains the head coach of the Italian national team, Jukka Jalonen.
