Leonardo Okeke has taken to social media to clarify his position after the controversy that arose over the chorus addressed to Varese fans during the celebration of Acqua S.Bernardo Cantù’s promotion to the Serie A. The long Monza native is a former player of the red and white club

“Regarding the video that appeared on social media depicting me being part of a chorus against Varese during the celebrations of our playoff victory, I would like to emphasize that it arose, certainly too lightly, in an absolutely goliardic context but with no intention of offending the Varese fans, towards whom I have great respect. They have never let me lack their support even in the hardest moments.”

“I apologize to anyone who felt offended, but I am sure you can understand the innocence of my words to avoid creating further controversy. Nor was it equally my intention to offend the city. In a moment of celebration I followed, playfully but mistakenly, the chants of our fans made a moment earlier to my teammates”.
