Mattia Furlani triumphs at Paavo Nurmi Games

Mattia Furlani wins the long jump final at the Paavo Nurmi Games in Turku, Finland. The world indoor long jump champion won the Gold leg of the Continental Tour with a measurement of 8.11 (+0.9).
The Fiamme Oro’s Italian commanded the race from the first round, measured in 8.02, and then stretched to the fifth entry on the platform, before closing with a jump judged null by a matter of millimeters.
Furlani beats Australia’s Liam Adcock (8.05/+1.6), who had overtaken him at the Pietro Mennea Golden Gala, and heads for the European Team Championships in Madrid. Third place for Jamaican Tajay Gayle (7.97/+1.6), who was sore in the last jump.
