Tezenis Verona puts Diego Monaldi

on the roster.

Through a note, Tezenis Verona announced that it has signed a two-year agreement with Diego Monaldi, point/guard born in Aprilia (Latina) on April 3, 1993.

Monaldi took his first steps in the world of basketball with Virtus Aprilia, the team of his hometown, but was soon noticed by Virtus Roma, which included him in its Youth Sector. With the Capitolini he stayed for two seasons before moving to Mens Sana Siena. In Tuscany he shines, winning two youth titles: the Under 15 in 2008 and the Under 17 in 2010. With Mens Sana he also makes his debut in the first team, contributing to the conquest of a Scudetto, an Italian Cup and an Italian Supercup.

After several experiences on loan in Florence, Casale Monferrato, Bari and Reggio Calabria, he settled in Chieti in Serie A2, where in two seasons he maintained an average of 12.6 points per game. His excellent performances brought him back to Serie A in 2016/17, first with Dinamo Sassari and then with Pesaro, where he stayed for two years. With Victoria Libertas he plays an average of 18 minutes per game, proving decisive in two consecutive saves.

He then returned to A2 with Napoli in the 2019/20 season (interrupted by Covid), closed with a 12.3-point average in 26 appearances. The following year, as captain, he led the Neapolitan team to victory in the Italian Cup and Championship. In 2021/22 he landed in Scafati, where he scored 9.5 points per game and won another A2 Series title.

He starts the 2022/23 season in Serie A1 with Scafati, then moves to Udine, where he stays two seasons traveling on an average of 11 points per game.

“I am extremely happy to join an ambitious project like Tezenis. Verona is a historic and prestigious square, a wonderful city where life is great and where basketball has deep roots. I thank the club and the coach for the trust they have shown in me. I look forward to repaying this enthusiasm with commitment, passion and results on the court” said Monaldi.
