After losing to Carlos Alcaraz in the final at Roland Garros, Jannik Sinner is ready to start again in Halle, an ATP 500 tournament on the grass in which he is defending champion, in preparation for Wimbledon, which kicks off on Monday, June 30.

In the first round of the ‘Terra Wortmann Open’ the world number one will face German qualifier Yannick Hanfmann, number 135 in the ATP rankings. The match is scheduled for Tuesday, June 17, no earlier than 3:30 p.m.

The one between l’Azzurro and the German will be the third direct confrontation: the two previous ones smile on Sinner, who beat Hanfmann in three sets in the first round of the 2023 Us Open and in four sets in his debut at Wimbledon 2024.

In contrast, the South Tyrolean champion was quickly eliminated Monday in the doubles tournament, paired with Lorenzo Sonego. The Italian pair was remounted and beaten by the duo consisting of American Alex Michelsen and Russian Karen Khachanov.
