When Jannik Sinner plays in Halle: background with Alexander Bublik

After a two-set victory in the opener with Yannick Hanfmann, Jannik Sinner is ready to return to the court at the ATP 500 in Halle, where he defends the title he won in the last edition in the final against his friend Hubert Hurkacz.
The world number one will face an old acquaintance, Alexander Bublik, number 45 in the ATP rankings. The match between l’Blue and the Kazakh is scheduled for Thursday, June 19, but the time has not yet been announced by the game organizers.
Between Sinner and Bublik there are five previous matches with the South Tyrolean ahead 4-1. The most recent is in the quarterfinals of the last Roland Garros, which saw the world ranking leader prevail clearly in three sets.
Sinner also won in the round of 16 of the ’ATP 250 in ‘s-Hertogenbosch 2023, the quarterfinals of the Miami Masters 1000 2021, and the round of 16 of the Dubai ATP 500. Bublik’s only victory, however, was in Halle itself in 2023 when he won 7-5 2-0 and Sinner withdrew.
