Giovanni De Nicolao to Reyer Venezia

Reyer Venezia has announced the signing of Giovanni De Nicolao, a 187-centimeter, 1996 class point guard, who will be part of the men’s first team roster.

Giovanni comes from a basketball family: Andrea, the eldest brother wore the Reyer jersey for 380 games (second all-time in the club’s history) winning the Scudetto, FIBA Europe Cup and Coppa Italia in the Orogranata, while Francesco, class of 1993 brother of Andrea and Giovanni, wore the jerseys of Verona, Imola, Omegna, Piacenza in A2 playing the 2024/25 season with the Mantova jersey. In 2015 Giovanni played in the second edition of the Reyer School Cup with l’Istituto Newton di Camposampiero.

He was born on June 10 in Camposampiero (PD) and trained basketball in the nursery of Della Pallacanestro Vigodarzere, playing in several Serior leagues with Mestrino in Serie D, Limena in Serie C, then in Vicenza in C1 where he won the championship and promotion to Serie B.

At age nineteen, he made his Legadue debut in the 2015/16 season with Junior Casale Monferrato before a college adventure in America with UTSA Roadrunners men’s basketball (2016-2019). At the University of Texas at San Antonio, he majored in Kinesiology.

When he returned to Italy, he played one season with Agrigento in Serie A2, then three Serie A championships with Varese and finally landed in Naples, where, in the 2023-2025 two-year period, he became captain and helped win the 2024 Coppa Italia. De Nicolao brings to the lagoon solidity, game vision and tactical intelligence at the service of the team.
