Jannik Sinner, Carlos Alcaraz exposes himself forthrightly

The elimination in the second round of the Halle tournament has made noise, although there are several factors that invite Jannik Sinner not to make too many dramas: the impact with the new surface after the season on clay has put other top-ranked tennis players, such as Alexander Zverev and Carlos Alcaraz, in a difficult position, and it was precisely the latter who wanted to have his say on the South Tyrolean’s defeat at the hands of Alexander Bublik.
Talking at a press conference at Queen’s Club in London, the venue of the London tournament in which he is among the four semifinalists, Alcaraz did not shy away from a specific question about the reasons for Sinner’s defeat in Halle. “After Paris I guess it was hard for him, especially mentally” began the Murcian, who beat Sinner in the Roland Garros final.
“I think this is normal, it happened to me too and it usually took me a few days to recover – explained Alcaraz, who at Queen’s took a big risk in the second round, winning by d’a whisker against compatriot Jaume Munar -. It also depends a bit’ on the match: I too have lost matches that lasted a long time, the important thing is to always come out with your head held high”.
The one between Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz is a rivalry with blunt and friendly tones, as far as off-court attitude is concerned. Even after the extremely tough battle on clay in Paris, the two complimented each other, testifying to a friendly relationship that not even the sporting duality can tarnish.
The two have been a good friend.
