Fabio Quartararo will be able to take part in qualifying and the Sprint Race scheduled for Saturday at the Mugello circuit: the French Yamaha rider, who had managed on Friday to snatch a time to directly contest Q2 despite a bad blow to his shoulder due to a fall, has in fact been given the green light to take to the track, as confirmed by his team.

“Fabio underwent extensive medical checks in Florence – explained the MotoGp team of the Japanese manufacturer -. The results of the examinations ensure the possibility of returning to the circuit”. Quartararo, immediately after the fall, had been treated by the medical staff that came to his rescue, which had put back his dislocated shoulder.

Quartararo had finished fifth in the pre-qualifying session, with a best time 311 thousandths slower than that of Maverick Viñales, the session leader on KTM. Along with them, Pecco Bagnaia, Marc Marquez (both Ducati factory), Alex Marquez (Ducati Gresini), Marco Bezzecchi (Aprilia), Alex Rins (Yamaha), Pedro Acosta (KTM), Franco Morbidelli and Fabio Di Giannantonio (both Ducati VR46) also qualified directly for Q2.

MotoGp world champion in 2021 and vice-champion the following year, Fabio Quartararo suffered in the 2023 and 2024 seasons from the widening gap between his Yamaha and the Ducatis. Significant results came in 2025, however, such as second place in Sunday’s Jerez race, which demonstrated the progress of his YZR-M1.
