Club World Cup: Juventus overcomes Wydad 4-1 thanks to a super Yildiz

Igor Tudor’s Juventus continue to impress at the Club World Cup, winning their second consecutive victory and mortgaging their passage to the round of 16, pending the result of Manchester City (whom they will face next Thursday) engaged tonight against Al Ain. After the overwhelming 5-0 win in the opener against Al Ain, the Bianconeri responded with a convincing 4-1 win against Wydad Casablanca, showcasing a growing solidity and an absolute protagonist: Kenan Yildiz.
At Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, it only takes a few minutes to understand the inertia of the match. Already in the 6th minute, Juve unlocked the result with an unfortunate own goal by Boutouil, caused by an offensive pressure culminating with a play inspired just by Yildiz. Ten minutes later, the Turkish talent class of 2005 took the stage with a splendid conclusion from the edge of the area that made it 2-0.
Wydad shortened the gap in the 25th minute with a header by Lorch, who took advantage of an inattention by the Juventus defense. But the Bianconeri reaction was not long in coming and in the second half it was Yildiz again, in the 69th minute, who placed the winning paw for the 3-1. It was a well-deserved one-two, although the awarding of the opening own goal denied him a hat-trick that would have told the tale of his dominant performance perfectly.
In the final there’s also glory for Dusan Vlahovic, who earned a penalty kick and converted it in the 94th minute, signing Juventus’ poker and his first goal in the tournament.
