MotoGP: Marc Marquez expels Mugello after 11 years, Bagnaia off the podium

Marc Marquez returns to win at Mugello after 11 years and conquers the MotoGP Grand Prix d’Italia: the Catalan rider of Ducati precedes on the podium his brother Alex Marquez (Gresini Ducati), and Fabio Di Giannantonio (VR46 Ducati). Fourth place for Pecco Bagnaia, a great protagonist in the first part of the race but then dropped: interrupted the streak of three triumphs in a row on the Tuscan track. In the top 10 also Marco Bezzecchi, Franco Morbidelli, Raul Fernandez, Pedro Acosta, Brad Binder and Ai Ogura.
Exciting first laps, the three riders in the first places, Marc Marquez, Pecco Bagnaia and Alex Marquez start a three-way battle with overtaking and counter-overtaking. The Piedmontese rider surprises Marc at the start, then it is Alex’s turn to take the lead and then again Bagnaia with a double overtake. Above all, the duel between Pecco and the number 93 is very close, and there is no shortage of contact between the two, fortunately without consequences.
At 15 laps Marc Marquez takes the lead of the race and imposes a hellish pace, which leaves no way out for either his brother or Bagnaia, who tries to hang on to the two Spaniards. The number 93 flies undisturbed to his second consecutive victory, while Bagnaia struggles and is caught and overtaken in the final laps by Di Giannantonio, who takes the third position by stealing it from the Piedmontese.
