Vincenzo Santopadre reveals Jannik Sinner’s advantage at Wimbledon

Interviewed by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Vincenzo Santopadre, who now works with Lorenzo Sonego, spoke about Jannik Sinner, fresh off his untimely elimination in the round of 16 of the Halle ATP 500 at the hands of Alexander Bublik.
“Let“s not forget that Sinner came out of Paris with a mountain of adrenaline – said the’former coach of Matteo Berrettini -, and with the emotional toxins of that final against Alcaraz still to be worked off. Bublik is an abnormal opponent, and Jannik has only paid the dross. But he can explode right at Wimbledon“
.
On the world number one’s chances in the London Slam: “The court changes every day, the ball splashes differently. You need intuition, adaptation, instinct. Those who are too rational sometimes get stuck. But Jannik can do it. With this bounce, no one hits like him. He has the talent and preparation to dominate, although he will have to find a smoother handling of key moments”.
“Wimbledon is the Everest of tennis. You need technique, but also head and free spirit. That is why Sinner needs to take off, regenerate and then get back on the court knowing that … you don”t always need perfection to win,” concluded Santopadre.
