Comolli’s new Juventus: David the'target, Weah and Mbangula ready to say goodbye

The Juventus of the future is beginning to take shape, and it is doing so with major movements both in and out. General manager Damien Comolli is working on several fronts to build a more competitive and sustainable team. At the center of the Bianconeri’s strategies is Jonathan David: the Canadian striker, back from a 25-goal season with Lille, will officially leave in the next few days and could be the big hit for the Old Lady’s attack.
Contacts between Juventus and the player’s entourage have intensified in recent hours. However, David, who has received attractive proposals from Saudi Arabia, seems to be fascinated by the idea of wearing the bianconero and has reportedly already asked his agents to facilitate negotiations with the Torinese, even at the cost of lowering his economic demands. Juve has made an initial offer on the low side, but the player’s willingness could make the difference in finalizing the deal.
At the same time, work is also being done at the Continassa to retain Francisco Conceicao, the Portuguese outside forward who has impressed Igor Tudor well. Juventus would like to redeem him from Porto but is aiming to get a discount on the 30 million requested by the Lusitanians. The feeling is that, with the player’s willingness to stay and the coach’s approval, the negotiations could be unblocked.
On the exit front, on the other hand, the double transfer of Timothy Weah and Samuel Mbangula to Nottingham Forest is at an advanced stage. The two outfielders, currently in training camp with the team in Orlando, are close to a transfer to the Premier League for a total sum around 25 million euros plus bonuses. A deal that would allow Juve to make cash to reinvest immediately in the market, perhaps on a new lateral. Flamengo’s Wesley, Fiorentina’s Dodò and Lazio’s Nuno Tavares are the hottest names to complete the outside lanes.
