Diego Nargiso thanks Jannik Sinner: "He changed us all"

Diego Nargiso has been a more than decent tennis player. A youth promise (he won Wimbledon Juniors), he won five singles tournaments during his career. Now an esteemed commentator, the 55-year-old former tennis player paused to talk about the phenomenon Jannik Sinner with Sportal.
What do you make of the’incredible interest around Jannik Sinner?
“We’ve often said it: he’s a special guy. Anyone, after losing Paris, would have been silent for days. He, on the other hand, found a way to restart, saw the positive side. He changed our way of thinking, he changed all of us”.
It seems strange for us Italians to have such a champion, doesn’t it?
“We must not get used to it, we must be aware that it is not a normal thing but completely exceptional. We must not take anything for granted and I am not just talking about the results that Jannik Sinner is getting but about all the azzurri and azzurre who are doing so well in this really magical moment for our tennis”.
Now comes Wimbledon. Of course, all the spotlight is on Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz. Are they the favorites for the final victory?
.
“Well, I would say yes but I wouldn’t forget Nole Djokovic who could be the third wheel. Then I am curious to see what Lorenzo Musetti will do who, last year, did well. Finally, let’s also see what condition Matteo Berrettini will be in, who on grass knows how to make himself respected when he is well physically.”
