Jasmine Paolini is back, Leylah Fernandez ko.

Having survived the ugly elimination in Berlin, Jasmine Paolini torpedoed Leylah Fernandez in the round of 16 of the Bad Homburg Open. 7-6 7-6 was the result of the two partials that allowed the Italian champion to advance to the quarterfinals.
“I don’t know how I won, I tried to stay there on all points but it felt more like a clay court. I am pleased with how I fought on every point and in the end I got my first win on grass in 2025. It is fun in my opinion to play on this surface, however, you have to adapt well and have confidence in your tennis” said Jasmine Paolini at the end of the challenge.
The Bad Homburg Open is part of the WTA 500 category and is played on the grass courts of TC Bad Homburg. The first edition of the tournament was to be held in 2020, but was canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
In the 2021 edition Angelique Kerber won, then Caroline Garcia and later Kateřina Siniaková. Last year it was Diana Šnajder who triumphed.
