Cantù says goodbye to Matteo Piccoli: consensual termination

Cantù says goodbye to one of the players who accompanied its return to Serie A in the last basketball season. It is Matteo Piccoli, who left the Brianza team following the consensual termination of his contract. Born in 1995 in Varese, he leaves after a single season that came after a two-year stint under the banner of Vanoli Cremona.
“Acqua S.Bernardo Pallacanestro Cantù announces that it has reached an agreement for the consensual termination of its contract with athlete Matteo Piccoli” reads an official statement issued by the club. Protagonist of 36 games in the league (47 if playoffs are included), the Varese player leaves after also winning the Italian Cup of Serie A2.
“Arriving in Cantù last summer, Piccoli experienced a season as a great protagonist with the biancoblù jersey – the official note still reads -, carving out a fundamental role on the court and in the locker room. The club thanks the player for the commitment and professionalism demonstrated daily and wishes him the best of luck in the continuation of his career”.
Cantu celebrated its return to Serie A last June 13, after beating RivieraBanca Basket Rimini in Game 3 of the promotion playoffs. “A very tough year, there were ups and downs, injuries, we went through it all: despite that we made it and we deserve it. Since January everything has changed, we have been very good”, has been the comment hot from Andrea De Nicolao, one of the protagonists of the’feat.
