Giulio Zeppieri, the Wimbledon dream continues: Paul Jubb knocked out

Giulio Zeppieri continues to dream of Wimbledon. The Roman tennis player also passed the second round of qualifying at the London tournament, getting the better of a “host” British Paul Jubb. The final score read 6-3, 6-2, after just an hour’of play at the Community Sport Centre in Roehampton.
For Zeppieri, the match went downhill from the very early stages, as evidenced by the 3-0 lead soon collected in the first set thanks to the break centered by the Azure in the second game. Jubb then held out and conceded nothing more to his opponent, however, failing to make a comeback by not even finding a break point before surrendering the set.
Another easier task for Zeppieri in the second set, opened by a break to his advantage. Not the only one, as the Roman doubled in the third game easily taking a 4-0 lead. An unbridgeable lead for Jubb, who once again did not get back into the match and indeed lost it on the very first match point.
Zeppieri was and remains the’only Italian still in the qualifying round for Wimbledon. Chosen thanks to a wild card and credited with the number 353 in the ATP world ranking, he had already seen Matteo Gigante, Federico Arnaboldi, Stefano Napolitano, Francesco Passaro, Francesco Maestrelli and Andrea Pellegrino fall in the first round.
