Inter Milan, Hakan Calhanoglu stops.

It is not an easy time for Hakan Calhanoglu, Inter Milan’s key midfielder, who has been forced to stop again due to a muscle injury. The Nerazzurri club, through an official note, announced the results of the examinations the Turkish director underwent in Seattle, where the team is competing in the Club World Cup. The MRI revealed a resentment in the soleus of his right leg, a problem that has already forced the player to miss all matches so far in the competition.
This is a heavy absence for Nerazzurri coach Cristian Chivu, who was hoping to soon recover one of his most important men for the crucial stage of the tournament. Already last week, during training at UCLA, Calhanoglu seemed to be improving: the midfielder had resumed running with some intensity and everything pointed to an imminent return. However, the new discomfort experienced in his calf blocked any attempt at a return. The affected area is particularly delicate and requires caution, which is why Inter has ruled out his presence even in the eventual round of 16, scheduled between June 30 and July 1.
In addition to the physical situation, market rumors are intensifying about Calhanoglu’s future. In recent weeks there has been persistent talk of a possible return to Turkey, to Galatasaray. The Istanbul club would be ready to put a very high fee on the table to bring the director back home. Inter, however, does not seem willing to negotiate unless faced with an offer of at least 40 million euros. The Nerazzurri club, in fact, continues to reiterate that it has received neither official proposals nor signs of a break from the player.
