Lorenzo Sonego&#8217s path to the round of 16 at the Eastbourne ATP 250 stopped in the round of 16. The Piedmontese, number 48 in the ATP rankings, surrendered in two sets to Ugo Humbert, number 4 in the seeding and 20 in the rankings, who won with a final score of 7-5 6-4 after an hour and forty minutes of play.

In the first set, it was the serve that dominated until the 12th game, when on the verge of the tie-break, Sonego lost the serve with Umbert making the first partial his own 7-5.

The second set is also decided by a single break that comes again in the last game: in the tenth game the Blue goes down 0-40, cancels two match points, but can do nothing on the third: it ends 6-4 for the Frenchman.

Sonego thus bids farewell to the ‘Lexus Eastbourne Open’. The Turin native will return to the court at Wimbledon, the real big event on the grass, scheduled from Monday, June 30, to Sunday, July 13.
