Lube Volleyball, Beppe Cormio explains Wout D'Heer’s graft
After three seasons in Trento and one in Taranto, Wout D’Heer is ready for a new challenge still in Italy: in fact, the Belgian center has accepted the offer of Lube Volley Civitanova, which is working on the market to reinforce the roster for the 2025-2026 season, after a year in which it won the Italian Cup and came close to the Scudetto and Challenge Cup, losing in the final in both cases.
Beppe Cormio explained why D’Heer’s was the profile sought by the Cooks: “Wout D’Heer represents the prototype of the modern central player, endowed with good characteristics in the fundamentals of wall and attack. He is an excellent hitter, perhaps the best serving among the powerhouses last year, a prerogative we lacked somewhat last season in the department”.
“We are talking about a young guy who has a lot of desire to work – added the general manager of the white-and-red club. This is one of the characteristics we wanted to consider from the beginning. Wout has already had experience in a big club, he was very young when he went to Trento and when he played, as a starter, a Scudetto final against us”.
“I am convinced that we hit exactly where we had shortcomings, with a player who knows our league well, our language and will adapt in a very short time dropping into his role in the best way. So we are very happy to welcome a guy who is physically fit and very first-rate from a moral point of view” concluded Cormio.
