In Parma, it is presentation day for Carlos Cuesta, a young coach (born in 1995) who picks up the baton from Cristian Chivu, who has since moved on to coach Inter after leading the Ducali to safety in the season just ended. The Mallorcan coach wanted to set the record straight right away, especially against those who questioned his lack of experience as head coach of a top league club.

“For me, it is an honor to become part of the history of this club–said Cuesta -The club, from the first contacts, immediately made it clear that they had great confidence in me. The’age? For me it is just a number, it will never be an alibi: I want them to evaluate my Parma performance, I will do my best as I have always done”.

“I am not worried that there may be players older than me– added the new Gialloblù coach -. When I went to Arsenal (where’he was deputy from 2020 until a few weeks ago) I was 24 years old, I simply always tried to get my task understood and prove that I am a good coach”.

The new coach is a good coach.

At the same press conference, Federico Cherubini, CEO of Parma, took a closer look at the reasons for Cuesta’s choice: “There is no desire to surprise anyone, and there are no links with the experience we had with Chivu. We simply have a project, a word that is abused but is important to us, and Carlos Cuesta is the perfect profile for what we have in mind. We want to go beyond the short and medium term”.
