While waiting for the participation of Inter’s Under 23 team in the next Serie C championship to be made official, there&#8217s already the name of the widely favored coach for the Nerazzurri team bench: it is Stefano Vecchi, formerly in the Nerazzurri ranks as a player and as a coach at youth level, who just on Thursday terminated his contract with Vicenza.

Vecchi had arrived to lead the biancorossi in December 2023, after Aimo Diana’s exoneration. He won a third and a second place with Vicenza, stopping in the promotion race in the final in 2024, beaten by Carrarese, and in the semifinals in the season just ended, defeated in the doubleheader with Termana (which in turn was beaten by Pescara in the final).

The team was defeated in the semifinals in the season just ended.

Along with Vecchi, Vicenza also bid farewell to assistant coach Omar Danesi, athletic trainer Alessandro Ciullini and match analyst Matia Costigliolo. “The club would like to thank coach Vecchi and his staff for their commitment – stressed Vicenza -, seriousness and the path they have taken in this year and a half, in which the team reached the playoff final for Serie B last season and the playoff semifinals in the current one, maintaining home unbeaten streak throughout his leadership”.

In the meantime, Inter, which at the first-team level is engaged in the World Club World Cup, is working on its entry for the Serie C championship. Spal&#8217s pre-announced absence from the third series has effectively opened the door to the Nerazzurri club, which will have until next July 18 to complete the bureaucratic process and register its second team.
