Unlucky Friday for Marc Marquez, who fell both during free practice and pre-qualifying for the MotoGP Grand Prix d’Netherlands. The Catalan rider of Ducati, leader of the overall standings, slipped earlier in the morning free practice session: the number 93 suffered a strain to the triceps.

In the afternoon, already battered, Marquez fell again, again at Turn 7 of the Dutch track: the incident was this time more serious, Marquez lost control of his bike around 200 km per hour. The rider, who ended up in the gravel, was immediately transported to the medical center for a full check-up.

Jorge Lorenzo on commentary on Dazn said he was concerned: “That is the corner that led to my retirement. That’s where I broke my vertebrae. The problem comes when you enter the gravel at 200 per’hour: you start turning and that is where the injuries occur. Definitely suffered a lot”.

Marc Marquez after the examination despite the abrasions was judged fit to continue the weekend in Holland: he will be able to participate in both the qualifying and the sprint race, if his physical condition allows it.
