Ducati, Pecco Bagnaia dejected: "It’s been going like this for 3 years in the Sprints"

Pecco Bagnaia spoke to Sky Sports microphones after finishing fifth in the Sprint Race of the Grand Prix of Holland. “It’s been a race, again, usual – he began -. All weekend, this time even more than usual, I have a great pace and I can be very fast. Few riders, if any this weekend, were faster. But even in the race today, for the’umpteenth time in the Sprint, I can”t be incisive and aggressive.
“I have to brake early, I don’t have much grip, everyone overtakes me – added the Ducati centaur -. Despite then, during the race, I am faster than the riders in front of me I stay there watching hoping for someone’s mistake to be able to overtake and move forward. It’s a shame, though, because it’s been three years of Sprint Races and three years where my difficulty is always the same and we can”t get ahead.
“Honestly my feeling, at this year’s level, is pretty good. I can find myself quite well. But in general in the different braking, if we compare last year and this year, I have a more nervous bike, even in the changes of direction. So it is not so much comparable from year to year and the two bikes are not comparable. We can see also today Alex Marquez definitely going strong, stronger than Marc, however as usual he probably didn’t find a hole. But in general this year we are struggling a bit’more this year”.
“My smooth driving is not working, it is no longer working. Again, no matter how hard I try, my riding style doesn’t fit this bike here unfortunately. It’s struggling a little bit more because it’s quite a different style. I can no longer load the front like I always did, the front is more nervous. You have to load the back and make it turn, and that’s something that bothers me a little bit more. I would like to get back to the way it was before, have a good feeling with the front and be able to exploit it. It’s the biggest limitation this year and my difficulties come from that, in my opinion the DNA of a bike you have a hard time changing it” concluded Bagnaia.
