Grant Basile and Cantù forward together: Nicola Brienza happy and aware

Grant Basile will still be a player of Cantù Basketball. After the promotion won in the playoffs, which will allow the Brianza club to return to the top division after four seasons in A2, the 25-year-old Wisconsin-born Italian national has chosen to continue his adventure in biancoblù, agreeing to a long-term project.
“Acqua S.Bernardo Pallacanestro Cantù announces that it has reached an agreement to extend the contract with Italian winger Grant Basile until the end of the 2026-27″ sports season, reads a note released by the club on Sunday. Basile, who arrived in Cantù in the summer of 2024 after experiences in Tortona, Pistoia, and Orzinuovi and a stint in the Canadian CEBL, will thus be one of the pillars on which to base the roster for the 2025-26 year.
“I am delighted that the path with Basile continues – Cantù head coach Nicola Brienza said about the agreement.
’ We are going to confirm an important player from last season, who will also be fundamental in the A Series. We started an important technical-tactical work together and the possibility of being able to continue together makes us happy”.
“As for Bortolani – added Brienza -, I hope to see him as a protagonist in the summer with the national team and I am sure that from August onward he will give us a great contribution to reach our goals. Also satisfied was the general manager of Canturini, Alessandro Santoro: “A new chapter opens because Serie A is a different and much more challenging league. A high-level challenge, which will see Grant Basile and Pallacanestro Cantù confront each other with the same courage, but aware of the difficulties we will face”.
