When Giulio Zeppieri plays at Wimbledon against Shintaro Mochizuki: the schedule

Entering the main draw of Wimbledon 2025 thanks to success in the three qualifying rounds, Giulio Zeppieri will face the London slam without great pressure, with the knowledge that he has already achieved an important result by joining the main draw. In the first round, the’current number 351 ATP will face Shintaro Mochizuki of Japan, 144th in the ranking.
The two will face each other on the first day of the tournament, Monday, June 30, no earlier than 5 p.m. Italian time, 4 p.m. in London. To get into the main draw, Zeppieri defeated in the qualifiers first India’s Sumit Nagal 6-2, 4-6, 6-2, then Britain’s Paul Jubb 6-3, 6-2 and finally world No. 110 Cristian Garin of Chile, 1-6, 6-2, 6-4, 5-7, 7-5.
The two men will play each other in the first day of the tournament, which will be held on June 30.
Mochizuki also came from the qualifiers: the Japanese athlete, class of 2003, defeated Pierre-Hughes Herbert with a double 6-1 in the first round, Brazil’s Felipe Meligeni Alves with a double 6-3 in the next round, and Switzerland’s Dominic Stricker, in the final round, 7-6(3), 3-6, 6-2, 6-4, after two hours and thirty-seven minutes of play.
The final round of the tournament was held in the first round.
The one between Zeppieri and Mochizuki is an unprecedented encounter in an absolute sense: in fact, the two have never met so far. The Japanese player performed well recently in the Ilkley and Nottingham Challengers, losing in the semifinals to Pinnington Jones in the former and in the final to Cilic in the latter. Zeppieri, on the other hand, had not played on grass this season before qualifying for the main draw at Wimbledon.
