Wimbledon, Flavio Cobolli in second round: Zhukayev knocked out in three sets

Flavio Cobolli does not stint on his Wimbledon debut. The Roman tennis player, number 22 in the seeding and 24 in the ATP rankings, left no chance to Beibit Zhukayev, world number 247, defeated with a final score of 6-3 7-6 6-1 after an hour and three quarters of play.
Downhill start for the Blue who finds the break to zero already in the second game, confirmed on serve (3-0). Cobolli administers the lead without difficulty and makes the first partial his own 6-3.
In the second set, it is the service game that dominates: just eight points are won by the players in response before reaching the tie-break. Here the Roman misses two set points at 6-4, cancels one at 6-7, before closing for 9-7.
The Roman’s serve was the main protagonist.
With the momentum now totally in his favor, Cobolli ramped up in the third set: the Blue ran away on 5-0, failed to exploit 3 match points in the sixth game, before closing on serve for a 6-1 final.
Thanks to this victory, Cobolli advances to the second round of the Championships where he will face the winner of the challenge between Argentine Tomas Martin Etcheverry, number 53 in the ATP rankings, and British wildcard Jack Pinnington Jones, world number 281.
