Wimbledon: Jannik Sinner makes good debut. Nardi knocked out in derby

Jannik Sinner is off to a good start at Wimbledon. The world number one defeated on his debut in the London tournament Luca Nardi in three sets with the scores of 6-4, 6-3, 6-0, in just under two hours of play. Debut at the Central Court without too many problems for l’Azzurro, who confirmed the tradition that sees him always winning against Italian tennis players (now 15 wins out of 15 matches on the ATP circuit).
After a somewhat uncertain first partial, Sinner stepped up his game in the second set, especially on serve, where he put up as many as 90% of his points with the first.
The third ended with a clear 6-0 victory that allowed the world number one to win his 75th match in the majors. For Nardi, world number 95, yet another elimination in the first round after last year’s elimination against Argentina’s Etcheverry.
Sinner will be back.
Sinner will return to the court next Thursday in the second round: he will take on Australian tennis player Aleksandar Vukic, who overcame Taiwanese Tseng in four sets.
