When Lorenzo Sonego plays at Wimbledon: his previous record with Nikoloz Basilashvili

After a velvet debut with Portugal’s Jaime Faria, Lorenzo Sonego is ready to return to the court at Wimbledon. The Piedmontese player in the second round will take on Nikoloz Basilashvili, world number 126, who eliminated Lorenzo Musetti in the first round.
The match between l’Azzurro and the Georgian will close the schedule on court 17 on Thursday, July 3. It starts at 12 noon (11 a.m. local time) with Wang-Sonmez, followed by the resumed match between Garin and Rinderknech, then Jacquemot-Bencic, and finally a men’s doubles match before Sonego-Basilashvili.
There are three previous matches between Sonego and Basilashvili and they smile at the Turin player who is ahead 2-1: the first one was won by Sonego in the first round of the Internazionali d’Italia in 2021, the second one went to Basilashvili in the second round of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, while in the last one the Azzurro won in the first round of the ATP 250 in San Diego.
In the last edition of the Championships Sonego was eliminated in the second round by Roberto Bautista Agut. He achieved his best result in 2021 when he went all the way to the round of 16 where he was eliminated by Roger Federer.
