Inter and Genoa are reportedly thinking about a possible exchange between two players. In fact, the Nerazzurri and the Rossoblù are considering a possible deal that would involve two youngsters with great prospects: Valentin Carboni and Koni De Winter. An exchange that could satisfy the needs of both clubs.

Inter Milan has been following the Belgian defender for more than a year. After two standout seasons with the Genoa shirt, De Winter has earned the attention of the Nerazzurri managers, who are eager to rejuvenate the backline at Chivu’s disposal. Although Inter’s top target remains Parma’s Leoni, the high demands of the Emilian club (no less than 40 million euros) have prompted Marotta and Ausilio to look with increasing interest at the red-blue central, valued at 30 million euros by Genoa.

Just to lower this figure, Inter could include the talented youngster Valentin Carboni in the negotiations. Genoa has been following the Argentine closely for some time, and had already tried to enter into talks with Inter last summer. After his experience at Marseille and an unfortunate knee injury, Carboni came back with character and quality, showing his full potential even in the recent Club World Cup.

The hypothesized formula would involve Carboni’s loan to Genoa, with a possible right of redemption and counter-option in favor of Inter, which does not want to lose control over the boy. In addition to De Winter, Marotta is also watching Morten Frendrup, Genoa’s Danish midfielder, who is highly regarded for his versatility, but for whom a separate negotiation would be necessary.
