Lorenzo Sonego, waiting to face Nakashima of the United States on Saturday in the third round of the Wimbledon tournament, gave an interview to Gazzetta dello Sport.

“A unique, exciting context. I know that I am lucky to have this opportunity to play the tournament every season and so I always try to do my best to stay as long as possible”.

“I came with the idea of having fun on the court, being comfortable, fighting on every point. It is the most beautiful tournament in the world. As children, we watched it on television inspired by the great players. Then when you are in it, you realize that everything has another light, another magic”.

Sonego also spoke about Sinner and Berrettini: “Do we confront each other when going through difficult times? We try to talk and support each other, always respecting each other’s space, of course. When one has a difficult time sometimes all it takes is a message, a “How are you?” It is not easy, but it is important to be there. I am happy if an Italian wins, if he does well. I don’t see my teammates as “rivals.” Except when we are against each other on the field. When there is a goal in between, it is a whole different story”.
