Wimbledon, Jannik Sinner thanks Novak Djokovic: "He improved me"

Jannik Sinner at Wimbledon will face Pedro Martinez in a highly anticipated third round that will see him engaged on the’grass of London in the early Saturday afternoon. In the intermission between the new challenge and the winning over Aleksandar Vukic of Australia (6-1, 6-1, 6-3 the result), the South Tyrolean wanted to speak words of praise for Novak Djokovic. The Serb, in his words, has had a great influence on his many successes over the past two years.
“Djokovic has given me a lot of advice, and he has helped me improve my playing style by bringing it closer to his– were Sinner’s words from Wimbledon, taken up by ‘QS’ -. He and I have a similar way of hitting the ball forehand and backhand, but Nole is able to vary more and on the grass he moves better than I do”.
“I always try to figure out how I can grow by taking cues from others. Djokovic is undoubtedly the one I am most inspired by, and he has always been a great help to me. Among other things without forcing me to change my style” added Sinner.
Djokovic, like Sinner, is included on the Wimbledon roster and has already clinched a third-round berth and subsequent all-Serbian challenge with Miomir Kecmanovic. By contrast, the last time he faced the San Candido champion was in the semifinal at Roland Garros last June, which the’Italian won in three sets.
