Ferrari, Charles Leclerc sibylline: "Problems we don’t talk about"

Charles Leclerc experienced another difficult Saturday at Silverstone, but after the heavy self-criticism in a Team Radio heat due to the sixth place remedied in qualifying of the British Grand Prix, the Monegasque driver made some sibylline statements about his Ferrari’s momentum.
“I don“t think I lost the pole position – Leclerc told ‘Sky Sport‘ at the end of the day -. In the last corner I lost something, but less than the two tenths missing from the best time. But I have no doubt that I lost the front row, though. And I am starting to get tired of coming here and saying all the time that there’s something wrong. The fact is that I am not finding the feeling with the car that I had last year”.
“The problems we have in Ferrari are very specific – Leclerc added -There are things that are a little bit’ strange, which prevent me from doing well in qualifying. However, we know where we need to intervene, and I think we have the solution. The fact remains that I have to do the work, and in qualifying I am not succeeding. I need to intervene, because Saturday has always been a strength of mine and instead I am now struggling”.
So Leclerc implied that Ferrari is dealing with problems that are known internally but have never been released in public. “The updates won’t help, because there’s more going on. We have never talked about it, and it is better that way. It’s just that we’re having a hard time dealing with this problem at the moment, hoping we”ll be able to solve it soon”.
