Wimbledon 2025 ends in the second round for Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavassori

Ends with a painful defeat in the second round the Wimbledon 2025 adventure of Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavassori, defeated in two sets by the pair composed of Czech Adam Pavlasek and Polish Jan Zielinski. Many regrets for the two blues, folded in just under two hours but mostly after as many tie-breaks: 7-6(9), 7-6(5), in fact, the final score.
Very straightforward the first set, in which no break came and even only on 5-5 did the first game come from eight points overall. Inevitable then is the first tie-break of the day, where emotions run high. In fact, Bolelli and Vavassori manage to cancel two set points on 4-5 and then thwart one on 7-6. Pavlasek and Zielinski even build two more, before closing the score with the fifth.
The great balance on the court is confirmed in the second set as well, in which it is Bolelli and Vavassori who try to put their heads ahead by winning a break point at 3-3, which, however, they fail to exploit. It’s back to the tie-break again, the Azzurri come back from 2-4 and 3-5 to even the score, but on the second match point they succumb to Pavlasek and Zielinski.
At Wimbledon too, therefore, comes a disappointment for Bolelli and Vavassori, after the bitter defeat in the final in Halle and especially the’elimination in Rome against Federico Bondioli and Carlo Alberto Caniato, in a challenge at the Internazionali d’Italia characterized in turn by bad luck at tie-breaks.
