Frederic Vasseur embittered by Charles Leclerc's gamble

Frederic Vasseur analyzed the British Grand Prix at Sky Sports microphones: “It’s been a difficult race from the start. Leclerc was very convinced of his choice, he had a good feeling. The Safety Car interventions and the changing conditions, always straddling between intermediate and soft, complicated things”.
“The pace however was not so bad, in fact it was good, McLaren aside. Charles was disappointed after the sixth time in qualifying: he had been among the first in free practice and also at the beginning of qualifying. We discussed it over dinner, I tried to re-motivate him. Everyone makes mistakes: us and others. I asked him to focus on the race, but then we paid for his gamble”.
“We still made a good step forward in terms of performance in the dry’s. We were the best in Q2 of qualifying, we need to repeat that in Q3 as well. We gained points on Red Bull and Mercedes but our goal is to win”.
