Andy Murray did not like the decision of Wimbledon organizers to close the roof during the match valid for the round of 16 between Jannik Sinner and Grigor Dimitrov, which ended with an unfortunate epilogue for the Bulgarian, who was forced to retire due to injury while leading by two sets.

The center court was covered between the end of the second set and the’beginning of the third set, causing an’interruption of about thirteen minutes. “It is ridiculous to close the roof at this point in the match – wrote Murray on ‘X’ -There is still at least an hour of light. You can safely play far more than one set. It is an outdoor tournament”.

After the break, in fact, the match continued for only four games: at 2-2 Dimitrov in fact raised the white flag due to a torn pectoral, just after he had netted an ace.

Sinner thus reached the quarterfinals of the Championships where he will face the U.S. Ben Shelton, number 10 in the seeding and ATP ranking, who eliminated Lorenzo Sonego in the round of 16.
