Italvolley women, Julio Velasco finds something to improve on

Here are the words of Italvolley women’s coach Julio Velasco after the overwhelming victory over Belgium that gave the Azzurri a pass to the final stage of the Nations League.

“We are in the final (the Final Eight, ed.) and this is very important for us, moreover we played a good match against Belgium although we conceded some moments of pause due perhaps to lapses in concentration. But then the girls were good to find themselves to bring home a very important match to open this week in the best way.”

“Our opponents were good in wall coverage and defense making many junctures of the match complicated for us. From a technical point of view we played well in the middle and made a few mistakes in the band but overall it was a good game and we can be satisfied.”

“Tomorrow against Serbia we will undergo an exam in view of the finals against a very strong team in a crossroads that has now become a derby as far as it is expected internationally. It will be important to play well and evaluate what we can do well and what we need to correct”.
