NBA: Ayton gets right to work for Doncic and James

The Los Angeles Lakers had a goal: to find a center, with great physicality, to serve Luka Doncic and LeBron James. Goal achieved with the signing of DeAndre Ayton. Coming off two less-than-stellar seasons with the Portland TrailBlazers, the Bahamian long man signed a two-year, $16.6 million deal with the YellowViolet.
It will be up to him, a first-round pick in the 2018 Draft, to give the Los Angeles men that presence under the boards that was a real limitation in the Lakers’last, delicate season. DeAndre Ayton knows perfectly well that this is an opportunity not to be missed to revive his career after the difficulties he had in Portland.
“I feel the Lakers were the best fit for me. They want to win a ring and I also want to win, to be part of the winners. The last two years were not what I wanted but I learned a lot: when you don”t win, you can be forgotten quickly” his words reported by ESPN.
DeAndre Ayton, 26, is 6 feet, 2.13 meters tall and weighs 113 pounds. In his NBA career he averages 16.4 points per game on 59 percent shooting, to which an impressive 10.5 rebounds must be added. Now there’s only to see if he will return to the great center admired in his first two NBA years in Phoenix.
