Wimbledon: Djokovic recovers Cobolli and joins Sinner in semifinals

Novak Djokovic joins Jannik Sinner in the semifinals at Wimbledon. The 24-time Slam champion beat Flavio Cobolli, number 22 in the seeding and 24 in the ATP rankings, in a comeback with a final score of 6-7 6-2 7-5 6-4 after three hours and eleven minutes of play.
The first to break the balance was Djokovic, who snatched the serve from Cobolli in the eighth game (5-3) and went to serve for the set. Here, however, comes the Blue’s vehement reaction, who counter-breaks to zero and hooks the Serb at 5-5, before winning the partial set at the tie-break (8-6).
The Serb is then able to win the set.
In the second set, the Roman’s level dropped and Djokovic took advantage: from 2-1 Cobolli, the seven-time Championships winner strung together five consecutive games, cashing in the second set and bringing the match back into total balance.
Djokovic also got off to a strong start in the third set in which he robbed Cobolli of serve in the opening game. The Roman, however, reacts and reengages the Serb at 2-2. In the 11th game, however, Cobolli runs into a bad service game that costs him the partial (5-7).
In the fourth set the balance lasts until 4-4: here Cobolli gives up the serve after an error on a fairly comfortable forehand volley. Djokovic doesn’t let himself be told twice and closes on serve on the third match point: he will now take on Sinner in the penultimate act of the Championships.
