Jannik Sinner: Ben Shelton after match vents in press conference

Ben Shelton spoke at a press conference after his defeat at the hands of Jannik Sinner in the Wimbledon quarterfinals: “His ball speed is really high. I have never seen anything like it”.

“When you play it, it is almost like things are double speed. It is difficult when a guy hits the ball that hard, that consistently on both sides and serves the way he does”.

“You can’t go into a match thinking your opponent won’t be at 100 percent– added Shelton -. His ball was coming out pretty well anyway, I didn’t notice any difference”.

Shelton is not satisfied with having made it this far: “I could sit back and think, ‘Wow, at 22 years old I was able to achieve these goals’. But my mind is critical. I know I am not where I want to be. That’s what I am focusing on”.
