Jannik Sinner and Novak Djokovic are set to face each other in a historic Wimbledon semifinal, and Paolo Bertolucci wanted to get off the hook about the big match that will take place on Friday afternoon on the London’grass. And in his judgment, the current ATP world number 1 remains the favorite even against an emblazoned opponent like the Serb. Who, however, could also find a way to surprise him.

“It will certainly be a different match than the one seen in Paris at Roland Garros – Bertolucci said in an’interview with ‘Il Sole 24 Ore’ -. I don&#8217t know if Sinner has an advantage on the grass, but Djokovic at Wimbledon has won so many times already. And after breaking records of all kinds, here he will attempt the last unrepeatable feat in the history of tennis”.

Bertolucci then recalled the record that Djokovic himself could hit by beating Sinner: “He would put 25 Slams in his sights, among other things after climbing two Everests in three days. That is, Sinner first and Alcaraz later. It would be the best epilogue of his career, yet another inimitable record for him. It may sound like science fiction to many, but I am convinced that he believes in it blindly”.

“Having said that, I believe that Sinner is slightly favored. Both because he is No. 1, and because by keeping the pace up, there would be neither time nor way for Djokovic to weave his web. Jannik will have to play this way, at a high pace and never losing sight of his error rate. Because if he starts making mistakes, he will have to slow down for sure” concluded Bertolucci.
