Tomas Woldetensae explains why he chose Reggio Emilia

After contributing 5.9 points and 2.7 rebounds per game in an average of 21.3 minutes in Naples, averaging 37 percent from distance, Tomas Woldetensae opened a new chapter in his career by accepting Pallacanestro Reggiana’s offer. A 1998 class of guard/winger, born and raised in Bologna to Eritrean parents, Woldetensae explained why he chose Reggio Emilia specifically.

Woldetensae took his first steps as a player at BSL San Lazzaro, before moving to the United States and honing his game in Florida and Iowa, then transferring to Virginia University, where he played between 2019 and 2021. He then returned to Italy and started his senior career at Chieti in July 2021, before moving in February 2022 to Varese and in the summer of 2024 to Napoli. He also boasts 8 national team appearances, with 19 total points, between 2022 and 2023.
