Di Giannantonio record-breaking ahead of Marquez brothers in Sachsenring pre-qualifying

It was Fabio Di Giannantonio, on the Team VR46 Ducati, who set the fastest time in pre-qualifying for the MotoGP class German Grand Prix at the Sachsenring circuit.

Di Giannantonio lapped in 1’19″071, a new track record, edging out the Marquez brothers by more than three tenths: Alex on the Ducati Gresini is second at 337 thousandths, Marc, the world leader, is at 390 on his factory Ducati.

Fourth is Frenchman Fabio Quartararo on a Yamaha, fifth is Spaniard Pedro Acosta on a KTM, sixth is Franco Morbidelli, Di Giannantonio’s teammate, seventh is Marco Bezzecchi on an Aprilia, and eighth is Australian Jack Miller on a Yamaha Pramac.

Ninth is Pecco Bagnaia on the other factory Ducati, tenth is South African Brad Binder, Acosta’s teammate, the last of the qualifiers directly to tomorrow’s Q2. All others will be engaged in Q1 to grab the last two available places.
