Diamond League, Andy Diaz on the podium in Monte Carlo

In the tenth stage of the Wanda Diamond League, in Monte Carlo, blue Olympic bronze medalist Andy Diaz is third in the triple jump with 17.19 (+1.6) on the last jump behind Jamaican Jordan Scott (17.52) and Algerian Yasser Triki (17.23).
Ayomide Folorunso finished sixth in the 400 hurdles in 55.08, won by an’irresistible Femke Bol in 51.95. Another strong time for Giada Carmassi, eighth in the 100 hurdles with 12.82 (-1.1) while the win goes to Jamaican Megan Tapper in 12.34 (-1.1).
The Monaco evening gives three world season bests, two meet records and three area records. Emmanual Wanyonyi is sumptuous in the 800 in 1:41.44, Noah Lyles outruns Letsile Tebogo in the season’s first 200-meter dash (19.88/-0.8), Julien Alfred flies again in the 100 in 10.79 (-1.4).

Armand Duplantis wins in the pole with 6.05 and then attempts the world record at 6.29 without succeeding. Korea’s Woo Sang-Hyeok ties the world season record in the high with 2.34. In the other races, successes by Kenyan Nelly Jepchirchir in the 1000 in 2:29.77, Dominican Marileidy Paulino in the 400 in 49.06, Moroccan Soufiane El Bakkali in the 3000 steeplechase in 8:03.18, Dutch Jessica Schilder in the weight (20.39), Ethiopian Yomif Kejelcha in the 5000 in 12:49.46 and U.S. Trey Cunningham in the 110 hurdles (13.09/-0.9).
