Marc Marquez already ahead in the first free practice at Sachsenring

It was Marc Marquez the fastest in the first free practice of the German MotoGP class Grand Prix at the Sachsenring circuit. The Spaniard of the factory Ducati, the world championship leader, lapped in 1’20″372, beating Yamaha Pramac’s Australian Jack Miller by 109 thousandths.
Third time for Marco Bezzecchi on an Aprilia, 315 thousandths off, fourth was Honda’s Frenchman Johann Zarco, and fifth was Spaniard Maverick Vinales on KTM: five different brands in the top five positions.
Following from sixth to ninth are Fabio Di Giannantonio on a Ducati VR46, Spaniard Joan Mir on a Honda, Frenchman Fabio Quartararo on the factory Yamaha, and Pecco Bagnaia, ninth on the other factory Ducati.
Fourteenth was Alex Marquez on the Ducati Gresini, back from his Assen injury, and seventeenth was Luca Marini, making his return after three races away. At 3 p.m. the pre-qualifying session that will determine the top 10 directly admitted to tomorrow’s Q2.
